Exhibitors on the show ring floorKnown as the largest all-breed, purebred livestock show in the world, the North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE) draws nearly 22,000 entries and approximately 200,000 visitors to Louisville each year.

The Expo

NAILE is much more than an ordinary showcase of livestock. Throughout
the show, visitors will enjoy the Giant Country Store with its nearly 150 commercial vendors selling everything from fine jewelry and food to western clothing and farm supplies. Global industry standards are annually established during the show as breeders merchandise bloodlines and genetics to local and international interests. Altogether, more than 140 shows, sales, breed meetings, entertainment events, and judging contests are held during
the 14-day event.

The Competition

Within the realm of competition, NAILE offers nine major divisions of livestock entries: dairy cattle, dairy goats, llamas and alpacas, quarter horses, draft horses, market swine, beef cattle, boer goats, and sheep. Particular interest is given to the industry's future as seven major youth judging contests take place during the show and assist in preparing the next generation for tomorrow's breeding challenges. All appearing under one roof, these competitions help make NAILE the premier livestock event in the world.

The International Vistors Center

The International Visitors Center at the North American International Livestock Exposition is a hub for hospitality and assistance at the world-renown event.

Visitors from 15-18 countries travel to the exposition annually and the International Visitors Center is the point that connects travelers from around the globe with a variety of useful services.

On-location services are available during the two-week run of events each November. The exposition always takes place annually during the first two, full weeks of November.

Visitors may use the services of the International Room on a “walk-in” basis.

However, advance notification of international visitor arrival and advance requests for services can be helpful to assure that appropriate assistance is available, such as language interpretation, farm tour arrangements, etc.

The Kentucky Department of Agriculture provides staff for the International Visitors Center.

Rodeo

The NAILE livestock events are rightly complimented by the wild excitement of the North American Championship Rodeo - the invitational finals for the Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). The Great Lakes Circuit Rodeo Finals brings the top cowboys and cowgirls together to compete for over $80,000 in prizes and the title of Regional Champion. The action is homegrown with the Great Lakes Circuit including participants from Kentucky and the neighboring states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The total purse ranks among the top 10 percent of all PRCA rodeo prize money and is the second largest purse for a circuit final.
